In September 1993 I was diagnosed with asteo arthritis in the bottom 5 vertebrae of my spine.
I started arthritis exercises in the pool that month and have continued 3 times weekly whenever possible. I attribute this exercise to helping keep my arthritis under control and also keeping my body fit and agile so that when in recent years I had big separation my recovery time was improved.

I have attended Pool Pilates session for ante-natal and post natal care for the last three years. I have found the classes to be very beneficial for maintaining health, flexibility and preparing for birth. Mark is very attentive to every person’s needs in the class and recommends different approaches to exercises as a result of his knowledge and care. The classes are fun, challenging and most importantly meet my individual needs. I would highly recommend pool Pilates and indeed the entire practice to others.
Barracuda Babies is a fantastic introduction to swimming and water safety for babies and children. Barbara is engaging, warm and friendly and takes a personal interest in all the children. She has a practical and caring approach and brings out the best in every child. Both of my children have a natural affinity with water and love their classes with Barbara. I feel very confident that my children are in very capable hands with Barbara.

Seven years ago I badly injured my knee playing tennis. My doctor recommended pool classes. I was reluctant. How could swinging my arms, body and legs in a pool help? – particularly when you’re injured. I started classes and found the pool really did help. The sore knee loosened up and my very arthritic neck gained more movement. I found because the body weight is supported by water exercising is easy.
Four years later I had a back ache- prolapsed in the lumbar region and the awful sciatic pain that goes with it. Mark suggested a gym class. Again I was reluctant, no weight bearing assistance from the water this time. However, individual assessment was given and a program adapted to my needs. This class is always closely supervised by a physio. My back muscles have strengthened so the spine is not so stressed some home exercises were given to aid progress.
I attend classes regularly two or three times a week HBF helps considerably with the cost. I have very little back pain and have postponed the knee operation for another year.
